What’s going on?
The latest cyber bill came after research showed that out of roughly 11,000 MSPs in the UK, only about 3,000 are fully on top of security. This goes way beyond simply installing antivirus software. It involves having the right tools, training and processes in place to spot and resolve threats quickly before they do some real damage.
Between 2015 and 2019, the government estimated that cyber threats were draining nearly £22 billion annually from the UK economy. In the past year alone, over half of all businesses were hit by cyber-attacks - amounting to more than seven million incidents.
Due to this significant impact on the economy, the bill has been designed to emphasise the need for proactive cybersecurity measures. If your clients’ systems aren’t patched up and secure, you’re at risk for huge fines and even bigger headaches.
