The visionaries

With experience in growing businesses across various sectors, we understand the struggles small businesses face, particularly with their security. We know how hard it can be to get the right measures in place when the primary focus for the business is growth. This is supported by our own research that shows 41% of SMBs think that investing in cybersecurity is too big a cost and would prefer to take the risk^*. The problem being that small businesses are being priced out of the market when it comes to obtaining decent cybersecurity.

Because of this, we wanted to use our experience of serving enterprise customers to tackle the problem head on. To deliver cybersecurity serves that were accessible to all businesses, no matter the size. That’s when the concept for Defense.com™ was born.

The vision was simple – to combine world-class technology and people-powered services to significantly reduce the risk of cyberattacks for all businesses. We wanted to empower you to grow your business with complete peace of mind, and thankfully, we knew we had the team to help us do it.

Development team – the tech wizards

The first proof of concept for Defense.com™ was to show threats and remediation advice for businesses based on an intelligence feed. We worked closely with a select group of customers and heard that they wanted to find a way of presenting key cybersecurity metrics through an easily manageable interface. Once we had settled on this idea, our aim was to then massively expand the feature set to provide a ‘single pane of glass’ view for an organization’s threat profile. It was an opportunity for us to innovate and simplify the complexity of cybersecurity for the end user.

Our development team got to work by asking key stakeholders and customers to define what features were important to their business. We then took that feedback and started building the code for each of the features in turn, before testing the platform as a whole. We deployed everything to a staging environment and invited some of our customers to test out the beta version of Defense.com™ and give us feedback, in addition to our internal testing process. After a herculean development effort by the team, it was great to see all of the individual features coming together into one platform, and the overall value that it was bringing to our beta users.

The team are excited to keep refining the existing features in Defense.com™ and to explore new ones in the future based on customer feedback.
